María (psychologist, member M-37815 of the Colegio Oficial de la Psicología de Madrid) is a second-year student in the Psychology PhD programme at Universidad de Sevilla, where she finished her degree in Psychology in 2013. Thereafter and specialised with a Master's degree in Human Resources Management by the Chamber of Commerce of Seville. Shortly after, she moved to the UK to work for the NHS in the national Cancer Screeening Programme.
She holds a Master's degree in psycho-oncology by European University Miguel de Cervantes and currently undergoes a Health Psychology Masters. Last few years she has worked as a researcher for FISEVI and the Universidad de Sevilla.
The research she is currently carrying out focuses on improving the coping strategies of patients diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as improving their quality of life and psychological wellbeing.
María hopes to raise awareness about the importance of the role of the psycho-oncologist in the public health system.
